Needles on Fire

Week 6 is very exciting for me. This week I have finished the first half of my project, which was learning to knit a dish cloth.

I chose to do a dish cloth as it is a simple pattern and I felt it would be a great start for this project. I learnt how to do my first knots, learnt how to read a pattern and completed a square dishcloth.

Although I struggled a fair bit in the beginning, I kept repeating my learning process and finally got into a rhythm. Once you get going, it’s fairly enjoyable as it is the same hand movements repeating over and over. All in all it took me about 4 hours on two separate evenings to complete the dishcloth, which is a manageable timeline for any simple knitting project.

Please enjoy this short video update from this week and let me know what you think! I have enjoyed making these first few short videos and I hope to continue making more.

In my next knitting update I will be sharing with you all my new knitting project. I am so excited to share it and get started on it quickly!

  1. Wow! That is so cool that you’ve completed a knitting project already! I can’t wait to see where you’ll go from here and what else you’ll learning.
I also like the visuals you added to the top of your post and to your video – I’m a sucker for those types of things.

  2. That is so awesome that you have already finished a project for your knitting! I love that you are finding it fun to do the knitting. If you find it fun, it makes the project so much more exciting.

  3. It looks amazing Brooke! I love the colours the little holes on the outside! I really liked that you put the photo header on your blog post and not just on the video! I think I might make a header for my next post now. Great job!!
